What to Expect

I approach all of my clients with compassion and without judgment so that we can build a connection based on trust.

In your counselling sessions, I will hold space for your emotions and will always respond with empathy, no-judgement and thoughtfulness so that you can explore your innermost feelings with ease.

 

How it Works

Your initial session will consist of intake questions; this means that I will do my best to get to know who you are so I can provide the best possible support for you. It will require getting to know your history (i.e; family of origin, relationship history, work life, health, social life, previous therapy experiences). If you have any specific questions about the therapy process or about me, I would be happy to answer them to help put your mind at ease. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?
Each session costs $150 I also offer a free 20 minute discovery session for new clients.

How long is a standard session and how frequent will they be?
Sessions are 50 minutes. While once per week is recommended, we can work at whatever pace suits your needs. 

What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is available by e-transfer, credit card, and paypal. 

Will insurance cover my therapy session?
Most insurance companies will provide coverage for a registered psychotherapist. However, I am unable to direct bill the insurance company.. You will need to pay upfront and submit your receipt to your insurance company. Please contact your provider to assess your coverage. 

Where are you located?
Due to COVID-19, I am temporarily located online and offering secure, confidential virtual appointments.

What type of therapy do you offer? 
I work with individuals, parents, and families and offer different modalities based on the clients needs. These can include cognitive behavioural therapy, talk therapy, visualization or energy work. 

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a talk-based therapy that aims to improve the mental health and overall wellbeing of an individual, couple, or family. A psychotherapist works with a clients to change the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that are negatively affecting their daily lives. 

What is coaching?
Coaching is an action-oriented and solution-focused form of support that helps clients through periods of personal growth in order to achieve their goals.      

Can you prescribe medication? 
No.

What is your cancellation policy?
I require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancelled sessions. If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice the client will be charged the full session fee. This policy gives me time to offer your spot to another client who may be interested should you not be able to attend.
